Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER (SENIOR) to lead and oversee the planning, design, execution, testing, commissioning, and completion of electrical engineering projects. The role will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in electrical systems, power distribution, switchgear, transformers, cabling, testing & commissioning, and project management.

• Lead and oversee the planning, design, engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical engineering projects. 
• Manage project execution from design development through to project completion, ensuring compliance with approved specifications, drawings, budgets, schedules, and quality standards. 
• Provide technical leadership and engineering support to project teams, ensuring compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and statutory requirements. 
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution. 
• Review and approve electrical drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and technical documentation. 
• Oversee electrical installation works and conduct regular site inspections, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and quality control activities. 
• Monitor project progress, project schedules, manpower, material requirements, and cost control to ensure projects are delivered within budget and timeline. 
• Identify technical risks, site issues, and project challenges and develop effective engineering solutions to minimize delays and additional costs. 
• Manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure work is completed according to project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards. 
• Prepare project reports, progress updates, technical reports, and management presentations for senior management and stakeholders. 
• Lead, mentor, and guide junior engineers and project team members to improve technical capabilities and project performance. 
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. 
• Keep updated on emerging electrical technologies, engineering standards, regulations, and industry best practices.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline. 
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Project Engineering, Electrical Contracting, M&E, Construction, or related industries. 
• Proven experience in managing electrical projects from design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover. 
• Strong project management and leadership skills, with experience managing project teams, contractors, subcontractors, and multiple stakeholders. 
• Strong technical knowledge of power distribution systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, LV/MV systems, cabling, and electrical infrastructure. 
• Proficient in reviewing electrical drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings, and engineering documentation. 
• Good understanding of applicable electrical codes, engineering standards, HSE requirements, and statutory regulations. 
• Experience in project scheduling, budget management, cost control, risk management, and project reporting. 
• Proficient in AutoCAD and project management/reporting software. 
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. 
• Able to work independently, lead project teams, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. 
• Willing to travel or work at project sites when required. 
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients, contractors, suppliers, or project stakeholders.
