Job Description

Engineering Intern supporting the Engineering Department with lab-based pre-staging, hardware testing, and pre-configuration of smart home systems prior to field deployment. Hands-on exposure to Z-Wave, Zigbee, network setup, hardware packaging, and pre-commissioning workflows in an engineering lab environment.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Device Pre-Configuration & Staging: Unbox, flash firmware, pair, and configure Z-Wave controllers, hubs, and smart devices per project requirements.
• Bench Testing & QA: Perform quality checks and testing on hardware to identify defective (DOA) units and resolve pairing/protocol issues before site dispatch.
• Kit Assembly & Material Logistics: Prepare installation-ready project kits, map device topologies, organize lab staging areas, and handle hardware transport logistics.
• Documentation & Educational Content: Maintain project records and inventory, and create instructional guides and user-friendly videos for installers and homeowners.
• General Engineering Support: Assist supervisors with ad-hoc technical tasks, troubleshooting, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree student in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Basic understanding of networking, electronics, or IoT technologies.
• Strong interest in hands-on hardware testing, tinkering, and device setup.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized with strong documentation habits.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow structured technical workflows.
• Possess a valid driving license (preferred) for occasional material drop-offs or transport needs.
