Job Description

The Project/Program Sr. Engineer/Manager is responsible for managing new and existing customer projects within the subsidiary’s environment (Penang, Butterworth, Sg. Petani), ensuring successful execution from RFQ stage until mass production and delivery. Act as the primary point of contact for our portfolio of corporate clients across China region, managing end-to-end communication.

This role acts as the key coordinator between customers, internal departments, suppliers, and management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer quality expectations. 

Candidate shall drive cross-functional communication, risk management, cost control, schedule management, and customer satisfaction. Proficient in English, Chinese due to projects requirements.

Job Requirements

Project Management:

• Lead and manage customer projects from RFQ, NPI, pilot run, ramp-up, until mass production. 
• Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones, and deliverables. 
• Monitor project progress and ensure all activities are completed according to schedule. 
• Coordinate engineering changes, qualification activities, and production readiness. 
• Manage project risks and implement mitigation plans. 

Customer Communication:

• Act as the primary interface between customer and internal teams. Bilingual fluency (reading, writing, and speaking) in English and Chinese is highly advantageous to effectively support key account clients from China. 
• Conduct regular project meetings and provide project status updates to customers. 
• Handle customer escalations, technical discussions, and delivery commitments. 
• Ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and executed internally.   

Cross Functional Coordination:

• Coordinate closely with: 
• Business / Purchasing / Finance
• Engineering / Production 
• Quality Assurance 
• Planning / Logistics 
• Ensure alignment among all departments to support project objectives. 

NPI & Manufacturing Support:

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities. 
• Ensure readiness for: 
• Tooling / Jig & Fixture 
• Material       
• Capacity planning  

Schedule & Delivery Management:

• Ensure project milestones and customer delivery schedules are achieved. 
• Coordinate recovery plans for delays or supply chain issues. 
• Monitor material readiness and production capacity to avoid shipment impact 

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain proper project documentation and records in both English & Chinese. 
• Prepare:      
• Project schedules / Meeting minutes 
• Action item tracking 
• Weekly/monthly management reports 
• Customer presentation materials 
• Ensure all project documents are properly controlled and updated. 

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in: Engineering / Manufacturing / Industrial Management / related field
