Job Title: Employee Relations/Industrial Relation Lead

Department: Human Resource

Position Overview:

The ER & IR Lead will support the needs of Insulet employee population to ensure consistent application of all HR policies, processes, and systems. The incumbent will serve as a front-line contact in providing information/interpretation to managers and employees on a wide variety of issues. This includes advising the management team and employees on employee relations matters in maintaining industrial harmony, employee engagement, performance management, performance development, compensation plans, employee counseling, hiring & terminations, identifying, implementing & coordinating employees training programs, employee’s onboarding, organizing and coordinating employees welfare as well as to champion the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs for Insulet Malaysia

This role will serve as a valuable resource in the resolution of problems and determining escalation to the Sr HRBP.

In order to be an effective leader, the incumbent must develop an understanding of the business needs, thoroughly understand the client group services and processes delivered to the customers, the strategic priorities and the culture

Responsibilities:

  • Set direction, create policy and offer expert advice in all matters relating to IR/ER
  • To provide advice, counsel and resolution to managers on a broad range of employees’ issues including general HR issues, policy integration and interpretation, work conditions and employee development in compliance with the Labor Law;
  • Support and align cultural and behavioral change necessary for all corporate IR/ER programme
  • Partnering with both senior business stakeholders and HR teams to develop and implement Employee Relations best practices and programs.
  • Manage Performance Improvement Plan for employees and work together with senior leaders and managers to develop the best strategy to improve employee performance.

·Facilitating Decisions (Reduction in force) activities as well as company severance pay as a result of RIF to the employees. The incumbent will be the person in charge of managing the employees affected, providing counselling and identify best practices for the organization.

  • To manage disciplinary issues and recommend appropriate disciplinary action including conducting domestic inquiry, draft show cause letter, and other related disciplinary letters/ actions;
  • To support resolution of employee relations issues and conducts investigation as necessary, not limiting to conduct a preliminary investigation, schedule the event, identify witnesses, collate information/data, identify panel members, prepare exhibits etc;
  • To identify and implement positive employee relations programs that will lead to a more efficient and motivated work force.
  • To establish good relationships with relevant industry players, legal practitioners and related government and non-governmental agencies.
  • To always keep abreast with the latest changes to HR legislation by authorities as well as latest judicial precedents on Industrial Relations dispute.
  • Handling employee complaints, managing grievance procedures and facilitating counseling in conjunction with other stakeholders.
  • To conduct exit interviews for resignation cases and come up with retention solution.
  • Collate and analyze employee feedback across all levels on a regular basis and revising people programs and policies to generate more positive outcomes.
  • Participating in and/or leading projects focusing on continuous improvement.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource or equivalent education or experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR Generalist role
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with and influence the decision making of senior management.
  • Able to partner with global stakeholders to meet Insulet objectives.
  • Experience in MNC Manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

  • A skilled HR Business Partner with broad HR process experience, employee relations, change management understanding.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, able to effectively address all levels within the organization.
  • Strong team player attributes & committed to the overall team objectives rather than own interests.
  • Strong convincing and leadership skills with the ability to challenge decisions & facilitate change.
  • Listening and conflict resolution skills with sensitivity to others’ needs.
