Introduction

The role entails managing legal and compliance matters pertaining to business expansion in Southeast Asia, necessitating strong coordination, adaptability, and comprehensive legal expertise.

In this Role, you’ll get to

  • Provide legal support for corporate governance, business operations, and personnel management of call centers and subsidiaries in Southeast Asia.  This includes assisting with company registration changes, qualification applications, daily operational contract reviews, and labor compliance consultations.
  • Conduct compliance assessments, draft, negotiate, and finalize terms and conditions, as well as commercial contracts for various products targeting the Southeast Asian market.
  • Assist in handling consumer disputes, litigation, and emergencies in Southeast Asia.
  • Establish and optimize legal systems and processes, while providing internal compliance training.
  • Drive the localization of global compliance projects and undertake other tasks assigned by the team.
What you'll Need to Succeed
  • A Bachelor's degree or above, having successfully passed the national judicial examination in any jurisdiction.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a law firm or company, with prior exposure to international assignments.
  • Possess proficiency in spoken and written English/Chinese, with the ability to handle legal affairs adeptly.  
  • Knowledge in Business Chinese is essential as group legal documents are in Mandarin.
  • Exhibit strong cross-team, cross-department communication, and organizational collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work and partner effectively within a complex matrix organization and across boundaries, embracing multi-cultural and multi-jurisdic tional practice;
  • Sense of ownership, proactive, inquisitive with appropriate attention to detail;
  • A solutions-focu sed mindset and excellent analytical and problem-solvin g skills, flexible thinking with delivery of pragmatic and compliant business solutions.
