Job Description

 

We are seeking a Group Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, month-end closing, and management reporting for the Malaysia entity, the U.S. parent company, and designated BVI entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage bookkeeping, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, multi-currency transactions, and supporting-document filing.
  • Record and reconcile intercompany balances, related-party transactions, and cross-entity transactions on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare monthly trial balances, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, AP/AR ageing reports, and cash and bank reports.
  • Manage the full set of accounts for the Malaysian entity and prepare supporting documents for SST, withholding tax, corporate income tax, and other filings.
  • Prepare payroll schedules and statutory-contribution data, coordinating employee and expense information with the Office & Operations Supervisor.
  • Provide accounting schedules, general ledgers, bank statements, transaction support, and reconciliation materials to external accountants, registered agents, tax agents, auditors, and company secretaries.
  • Support U.S. parent-company listing and audit preparation by maintaining clear audit trails, supporting documents, intercompany schedules, and related-party records.
  • Establish controls for payment authorization, expense approval, bank access, segregation of accounting and cashier duties, month-end timelines, and document retention.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACCA, CPA, or MIA qualification or candidacy is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of full-set accounting and month-end closing experience, with the ability to independently prepare key financial statements.
  • Familiarity with Malaysian accounting, basic tax, and statutory procedures.
  • Experience with general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliation, multi-currency transactions, and intercompany accounting.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Advanced Excel skills, high accuracy, sound confidentiality awareness, and strong audit and documentation discipline.
