About the Role
K&T Precision Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced and highly driven Senior Engineer to lead the Design & Applications Team.
The Senior Engineer will support the Sales Team to lead turn-key projects from the engineering front. A strong cross-domain engineering competency, especially an ability to translate complex engineering requirements into executable plans and processes for manufacturing are key qualities for succeeding in this role.
This role is suitable for highly dynamic individuals with broad industrial applications experience, engineering design, project management and leadership qualities who wish to undertake greater professional challenges.
Key Responsibilities
● Design and develop tooling — dies, jigs, fixtures, and assemblies for metal and plastics precision manufacturing processes.
● Support product and mechanical design for customer parts, including design-for-manufacturability (DFM) input and drawing review.
● Produce, check, and maintain accurate 2D/3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks or other CAD Programs.
● Interpret and validate customer engineering drawings, including GD&T and tolerance requirements.
● Work closely with all project stakeholders to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet tolerance requirements.
● Lead or contribute to design reviews, revising designs based on production feedback and trial results.
● Support the Quotation/Costing function with design feasibility and manufacturability input during the quoting stage.
● Maintain drawing revision records and document control in line with company quality and document control procedures.
● Support new product introduction (NPI) and prototype development from concept through to production handover.
● Liaise directly with suppliers and customers, including Mandarin-speaking counterparts, on technical and design matters.
● Support any other ad-hoc projects as assigned
Job Requirements
Requirements
● Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
● Proficient in CAD software 2D and 3D design work (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, FreeCAD etc)
● At least 5 years of related experience, especially in CNC Precision Engineering environment
● Strong technical drawing competency, including GD&T and tolerancing and manufacturing methods
● Strong background in parts, tooling, assembly design (dies, jigs, fixtures) is a must
● Prior experience in the Electronics, Semiconductor, Data Storage or Oil&Gas industries are advantageous
● Bilingual in English and Mandarin, to liaise with Mandarin-speaking suppliers and customers on technical matters.
● Detail-oriented, resourceful, hands-on, and comfortable working directly with project stakeholders to solve design and manufacturing and end-use issues
