<div>The journey of Kapten Batik began from the incredible minds of two young entrepreneurs, Farhan and Ekram. They sail between seas and are inspired to evolve Malaysian traditional textiles. The two Kapten explored the market and latched on to refine the batik tradition into an exclusive everyday look that can be worn by everyone. They launched Kapten Batik in March 2017 with an ultimate bourne to uphold the batik heritage and making it a timeless apparel that you can wear every day.<br><br></div><div>Their inspirations are influenced from their extensive travels throughout Nusantara. They introduce their art and creativity in producing batik fashion with a team of textile designers. Kapten Batik products undergo a detailed creative process to produce a premium batik that is designed and tailored for the new generation market. The inspired designs are traced to a piece of paper and are recreated by their artistic team of designers, combining the designs into a unique batik art. Those cultured batik designs will then be sent to their metal artisans to be produced into a copper block. The artisans work exceptionally to provide elegant batik prints onto their custom-ordered fabrics.<br><br></div><div>Kapten Batik’s custom-ordered fabrics are mostly yarned in India and Indonesia. It is our prime focus to develop the highest quality of materials that provides luxurious comfort for the affluent as it is the main piece for our batik garments.<br><br></div><div><br></div><div>Moreover, batik is a well-known, remarkable form of art known worldwide for its special detailed process, undergoing countless techniques that require a lot of time and creativity of the artisans. Hence, it is essential to include a refreshed look in the existing batik fashion to adapt with the fast-changing interest of affluents as well as combining good Pantone colours to portray the exclusivity of the batik. Kapten Batik’s number one priority is to preserve the legacy of batik by turning them into a variety of outfits that you can wear every day.<br><br></div>

<p><strong>How you will contribute:</strong></p>

<li>Producing sketches, designs and samples for presentation to customers</li>
<li>Making up sets of sample designs</li>
<li>Working out design formulae for a group of samples</li>
<li>Assessing and approving completed items and production standards</li>
<li>Working independently if self-employed, or liaising closely with colleagues as part of a small team</li>
<li>Using specialist software and computer-aided design (CAD) programs to develop a range of designs</li>
<li>Experimenting with colour, fabric and texture</li>
<li>Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of new design and production techniques and textile technology</li>
<li>Developing new design concepts</li>
<li>Ensuring that projects are completed on time</li>
<li>Visiting sites and other sources of ideas for designs</li>
<li>Sourcing fabrics and other materials at trade fairs, markets and antique shops</li>
<li>Keeping up to date and spotting fashion trends in fabric design by reading forecasts in trade magazines and using internet resources</li>
<li>Developing a network of business contacts</li>
<li>If self-employed, managing marketing and public relations, finances and business administration and maintaining websites.</li>
