Job Description

We are seeking a high-caliber, disciplined, and technically-minded Regional Business Development Manager to lead our growth across South Asia. Based in Malaysia, you will be the primary driver for market expansion in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan.

This role is a blend of strategic hunting and sophisticated account management. You will be responsible for identifying and onboarding new dealers while optimizing the performance of existing ones. Additionally, you will lead and mentor a dedicated sales employee focused on the Maldives, ensuring excellence in execution and local market penetration.

Job Role

  • Market Expansion & Dealer Management: Identify, vet, and appoint high-potential dealers in emerging markets. Maintain and grow long-term relationships with existing partners through regular performance reviews and strategic planning.
  • Sales Leadership: Directly manage and coach a sales team member focused on the Maldives. You will be responsible for their KPIs, professional development, and day-to-day tactical execution.
  • Strategic Execution: Operate independently to execute sales strategies. You are expected to be a "self-starter" who maintains high discipline without constant supervision.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use business acumen and market analytics to forecast trends, identify gaps, and justify investment or pivot strategies.
  • Technical Advisory: Leverage your engineering background to understand complex product specifications (Mechanical/Electrical/Robotics) and translate them into value propositions for dealers and end-users.

Job Requirements

1. Professional Experience

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 7–8 years of proven experience in business development or regional sales.
  • People Management: Demonstrated success in managing, training, and developing a sales team.
  • Proven Track Record: Experience in both developing new dealers and managing existing account environments.

2. Technical & Educational Background

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering.
  • Acumen: Ability to grasp complex technical systems and explain them clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

3. Core Competencies

  • Independence & Discipline: Able to manage a remote territory with minimal "hand-holding" while maintaining high performance.
  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills; ability to influence dealer principals and senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong business acumen with the ability to use data (CRM, market reports, KPIs) to drive results.
  • Team Player: While independent in execution, you possess a collaborative mindset to work with regional marketing, logistics, and technical support teams.
