About the Position

KEMM Advisory is recruiting experienced Audit Seniors and capable Audit Semi-Seniors to support external statutory-audit engagements undertaken by TCT & Co, the audit practice operating under the KEMM Advisory umbrella.

The position focuses primarily on external statutory audit. Depending on the client portfolio and work cycle, the successful candidate may also assist with Malaysian company-tax computations and related compliance matters, with appropriate guidance and review support.

This opportunity is suitable for an external auditor who can manage audit assignments, communicate confidently with clients, guide junior team members and progress towards an Audit Supervisor or Audit Manager role.

What You Will Do

• Plan, execute and complete external statutory-audit engagements for a portfolio of Malaysian SME clients.
• Manage assigned audit engagements from planning through completion, independently or with appropriate guidance according to the appointment level.
• Prepare and review audit working papers and supporting documentation.
• Identify audit risks, accounting issues and internal-control weaknesses that require further investigation.
• Review financial statements, audit schedules and supporting documents.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding audit queries, outstanding information and audit findings.
• Resolve accounting and audit issues in consultation with the Audit Partner and designated audit reviewer.
• Guide, supervise and review the work of Audit Associates and interns.
• Monitor assignment progress and complete work accurately within agreed deadlines.
• Assist with the finalisation of audit files and financial statements.
• Use audit software and digital tools to improve audit quality and efficiency.
• Assist with company-tax computations and related corporate-tax compliance when assigned.

Job Requirements

Who We Are Looking For

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, or a recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW, CPA or MICPA.
• At least two years of relevant external statutory-audit experience in a Malaysian public-practice or audit firm.
• Appointment as Audit Senior or Audit Semi-Senior will depend on demonstrated competency and the ability to manage assignments.
• A working knowledge of MPERS, financial reporting requirements and Malaysian statutory-audit procedures.
• Able to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines and communicate professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Experience in Malaysian company-tax computations would be an advantage but is not essential, as guidance and training will be provided.
• Experience limited to internal audit, risk management or commercial accounting does not meet the core requirement for this position.

Work Setup and Eligibility

• Full-time, on-site position at the office stated in the advertisement: Bayan Lepas, Penang, or Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
• Occasional travel to client premises when required.
• Applicants must already have the legal right to work in Malaysia. Employment-pass sponsorship and overseas relocation assistance are not available for this position.
