About the role

 

 

Work Location :  Simpang Ampat - Penang 

 

Reporting to : Warehouse Manager 

Key responsibilities

 

 

Ensures overall EHS Compliance compliances of the Warehouse Operations 

 

  • Recognizing and controlling occupational hazards, environment impact and interfacing with employees and management. Rectify the EHS issues in day-to-day basis, attending the daily operation meeting and take immediate action of EHS issues. 
  • Support and guide the EHS Committee for daily and monthly activities and inspections. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant authorities by developing and implementing EHS programs, policies, and management systems. 
  • Ensure the HE/HP (KIRMS) of RSA finding and ISO45001 & 14001 rectify, closed and effective. 
  • Guides and promotes safe work performance and act as internal reference by providing necessary training programs to increase safety awareness and knowledge among all employees. 
  • Ensure all EHS Program run accordingly. 
  • Ensure Storage & Racking standard are compliance and system effectiveness are audited on annual basis. This will include a formal inspection by a technically competent person. 
  • Communicating EHS information to the organization as appropriate. To conduct safety induction training to new employees, contractors, and visitors.  
  • Evaluating and controlling workplace hazards by conducting risk assessment and environmental impact assessment. 
  • Report the EHS monthly KPI, EHS monitoring, waste management, and Carbon Footprint. 
  • Ensure update the maintenance of all safety equipment such as fire protection system, emergency equipment etc.  
  • Interpreting standards, advising management on needed actions, enforcing adherence to regulations (e.g., OSHA 2022 (amendment) and Kerry corporate standards (KIRMS Standard (HE/HPA)) 
  • Execute the EHS yearly Action Plan and evaluate the effectiveness.  
  • Coordinate the EHS Committee meeting, activities as required by OSHA 2022  
  • Liaise with relevant department and related government body in any EHS issues. 
  • Liaise with contractor on-site. 
  • Propose internal EHS purchases. 
  • Others task as requested by superior/related department. 
     

Qualifications and skills

 

 

  • Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Environmental / Health / Safety, Chemistry or equivalent 
  • Registered with DOSH as a competent Safety Coordinator or Safety & Health Officer 
  • In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) 2022 (amendment) Act 
  • Preferably with knowledge in ISO 45001 & 14001. 
  • For Safety Officer, minimum 3 years’ experience in EHS in a multinational manufacturing industry 
  • Possess strong organizational and technical skills, a real passion for their work and driven to get the job done. 
  • Experience with compliance audits and safety management systems 
  • An excellent communicator (both oral and written) capable of conveying ideas and concepts and making formal presentations. 
  • Ability to work independently and have little need for close management supervision and direction 

 

Authority 

 

  • Stop Operation Activity if there is a major EHS incident or if work condition which induce to major EHS incident.
