About the role

 

  • Work Location        : 1Powerhouse, PJ, Selangor (5 mins walking distance from MRT Bandar Utama)
  • Reporting To           : General Ledger Controller
  • Working Hours       :  2.00PM – 11.00PM

 

As a Senior Intercompany Accountant, you will work both individually and within a team environment to manage Intercompany Transactions for the assigned Europe region. This role is essential for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of tasks in line with the monthly close calendar. You will serve as a key business partner for compliance, tax, and statutory teams, as well as Country Compliance Controllers, the Group Team, and the R2R Team.


 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Handle monthly intercompany tasks like preparing payment requests, posting allocations, clearing open items, performing recharges, and agreeing on transactions between entities.
  • Month-End Activities: Reconcile intercompany accounts on SAP vs. ICMS, post foreign currency revaluations, ensure AR and AP balances with other entities, and complete intercompany support.
  • Coordinate with other regions to balance intercompany accounts at month-end.
  • Monitoring and Follow-Up: Track unagreed intercompany listings, follow up on open items, escalate queries, and resolve issues.
  • Analyse intercompany costs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work with business, AP, and AR departments to resolve intercompany issues.
  • Prepare monthly intercompany reports, including financial consolidation notes, balance sheet reconciliations, aging status updates, and audit statements.
  • Ensure compliance with intercompany processes and act as a gatekeeper for non-compliance requests.
  • Assist stakeholders, local finance teams, and business partners with queries and support process improvements.
  • Guide and lead team members, especially in the absence of the Controller.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Controller.

 

Qualifications and skills

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accountancy or similar field.
  • Minimum 5 year of experience in Financial Accounting (within a shared services is preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO modules.
  • Proficiency in AP vendor/internal customer management, validation, and invoice processing.
  • Professional certifications like ACCA, CPA, or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) or local GAAP, would be an added bonus.
