Job Description

Short Description

Writing is your passion. You’re a whizz with words, especially in Mandarin.

Insert your magic here:

“LOREM IPSUM DOLOR SIT AMET” - but make it compelling in 中文.

We’re looking for a Digital Content Writer (Mandarin) who can bring ideas to life through persuasive, emotive, and culturally attuned Chinese copy.

Mandarin is your main language for copywriting, and you’ll create content across social platforms, websites, banners, and campaigns. Native-level proficiency is required. English is secondary, but we’d love someone who can write clearly and accurately at an advanced level.

3 best things about the role:

  • You’ll create Chinese content for a wide range of industries, brands, and campaign objectives.
  • You’ll sharpen your ability to adapt tone, style, and messaging based on brand identity and market context.
  • You’ll collaborate with a team of creatives who value originality, logic, and strong linguistic craft.

What your day looks like:

  • You'll understand a brand’s product, target audiences (including Chinese-speaking markets), and competitive landscape.
  • You'll write original Mandarin advertising copy according to client briefs.
  • You'll brainstorm communication strategies, campaign ideas, cultural insights, and key messaging.
  • You'll present conceptual direction and develop them into actionable content.
  • You'll prepare Mandarin content tailored for various social media platforms (FB, IG, TikTok, Xiaohongshu, etc).
  • You'll edit or rewrite existing Mandarin content for ongoing digital campaigns or brand refreshes.
  • You'll conduct research to stay updated on Mandarin advertising trends, culture, online behaviour, and digital industry shifts.

Job Requirements

What you’ll bring:

  • Required: A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Required: Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin (both writing and comprehension).
  • Required: Ability to write in English (for internal communication, light copy, or cross-language support).
  • Required: At least 1 year of experience in Mandarin copywriting, advertising, digital content, or related fields.
  • Strong command of tone, emotion, rhythm, and nuance in Mandarin writing.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and strategists.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Excellent self-editing skills and attention to detail.
