Job Description

The successful candidate will be part of the Finance Unit of Kris Business Hub (KBH), a Malaysia-based entity providing corporate and operational services in Kuala Lumpur.    

He/She will maintain the integrity and accuracy of the Company’s financial records by performing general ledger functions. He/She will also be responsible for the processing of journal entries, review and clearance of suspense accounts, and preparation of reports to support local tax and statutory reporting requirements. 

Key Responsibilities

Process and record journal entries, review of suspense accounts and bank reconciliation 

  • Process and record journal entries for accruals and/or reclassification. 
  • Monitor and ensure prompt clearance of suspense accounts. 
  • Follow up with stations on non-clearance of suspense accounts within defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set. 
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual finance closing activities. 
  • Monitor timely interface of bank statements, perform generation and review bank reconciliation, ensuring all unreconciled items are properly investigated and accounted for. 

Statutory reporting functions and review of variance analysis review  

  • Generate reports and prepare schedules for audit/tax reporting requirements. 
  • Perform variance analysis of budget versus actual operational expenditure for for stations. 
  • Liaise with stations to obtain explanations and supporting details for the variances. 

 People and process improvements 

  • Provide coverage for team members when required to ensure continuity of finance operations. 
  • Participate and assist with ongoing process improvements such as participating in User Acceptance Testing for system enhancements. 
  • Participate in and support process improvement initiatives, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements. 


Job Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Accountancy or equivalent. 
  • Experience with local tax reporting requirements will be an advantage. 
  • Knowledge of Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) is preferred. 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel. 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.   
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
