Job Summary:

Assist R&D Manager with design and develop mechanical product structure (plastic), either new or improvement from existing design based on customer & in-house requirements; establish and maintain specification’s document arising from Design & Development activities and update into quality control documents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties: (Approximately 70 to 80% of daily work schedule)

• Involve in Design and develop mechanical product structure (plastic), to meet customer, manufacturability & in-house requirements.
• In charge testing of designated plastic moulding products and necessary secondary process (printing & assembly) to ensure the conformance of established quality requirements.
• Perform 1st Article Checking on new / modified mould and liaison with mould maker / supplier / workshop for necessary action.
• Generate DCN / ECN to production arising from Design & Development activities and update into quality control documents.
• Distribute 1st Article Checking Report and quality document to relevant department.

Secondary duties: (Approximately 20 to 30% of daily work schedule)

• Involve in new material testing (resin & plastic colorants) and seeking improvement on existing products.
• Perform Product Monitoring for changing of new raw material before/after mass production. 
• Follow up all abnormal cases.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Possess knowledge of Science/Chemistry.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Ability to apply testing and inspection equipments.
• Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
• Computer literate.
• Possess good drafting skills in 2D and 3D, eg. AutoCAD, Solidworks etc. and good mathematical skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Preferably Bachelor Degree in Engineering Mechanical, Engineering Industry, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or relevant field.
