Job Description
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who is detail-oriented, dependable, and ready to take real ownership of the day-to-day financial operations at LOL Asia. You will work closely with and directly support the Finance Manager, ensuring that our books are accurate, our reporting is timely, and our financial processes run smoothly across all projects and markets.
This is not a passive role. You’ll be hands-on across the full accounting cycle — from processing transactions and reconciling accounts to preparing reports and supporting cross-border compliance. If you’re someone who takes pride in getting the numbers right and wants to grow within a fast-moving, high-energy business, this role is for you.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Full-Cycle Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Payroll & Staff Claims Processing
- Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Audit & Internal Controls Support
- Cross-Border Finance Support
Full-Cycle Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled on a timely basis
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and month-end adjustments
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
- Maintain an organised and audit-ready set of financial records across all entities and projects
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial close
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial statements for review by the Finance Manager
- Analyse actual performance against budgets and forecasts, highlighting variances and providing commentary
- Maintain and update financial trackers, dashboards, and project cost reports to support internal decision-making
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting for shows, tours, and operational departments
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing reports and presentations for senior leadership
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process and verify vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payments accurately and within agreed timelines
- Manage the accounts receivable cycle including invoicing clients and sponsors, tracking collections, and following up on outstanding balances
- Reconcile vendor and customer statements regularly and resolve any billing discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of all payables and receivables and provide regular ageing reports to the Finance Manager
Payroll & Staff Claims Processing
- Process monthly payroll accurately and on time in compliance with statutory requirements including EPF, SOCSO, and PCB
- Review and process staff expense claims, ensuring they are properly supported, authorised, and in line with company policy
- Maintain payroll records and liaise with HR on headcount changes, new hires, and departures affecting payroll
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare and submit monthly SST returns and ensure all indirect tax obligations are met accurately and on time
- Support the Finance Manager in coordinating corporate tax submissions and liaising with external tax agents
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards (MFRS) and statutory requirements across all entities
- Assist with regulatory filings and documentation across LOL Asia’s operating markets in Southeast Asia

- Support the preparation of audit schedules, supporting documents, and reconciliations for annual external audits
- Liaise with external auditors and provide timely responses to audit queries
- Identify weaknesses in financial processes and recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls
- Ensure all financial documentation is properly filed, accessible, and audit-ready at all times
Cross-Border Finance Support
- Assist with financial reporting and reconciliations for LOL Asia’s operations across multiple Southeast Asian markets
- Support the Finance Manager in coordinating with local accountants and tax consultants in each country
- Help standardise accounting processes and documentation across regions to ensure consistency and compliance
Job Requirements
What We’re Looking For:

- Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in a fast-paced, multi-entity, or project-based environment
- Strong command of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
- Solid understanding of Malaysian tax regulations including SST, PCB, EPF, and SOCSO; exposure to other SEA jurisdictions is an advantage
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, SQL Accounting, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines without compromising accuracy
- A self-starter who takes ownership of their work and proactively flags issues before they become problems
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach — comfortable working with non-finance teams
- Experience in entertainment, events, or a project-driven industry is a bonus but not required
Why Join LOL Asia:
- Work on the financial backbone of one of Southeast Asia’s most exciting live entertainment companies
