Job Description

1. Apply, renew, and maintain JAKIM Halal Certification for outlets and menu.
2. Ensure all raw materials, ingredients, suppliers, and processes comply with Halal requirements.
3. Liaise with JAKIM/state religious authorities and support external audit processes.
4. Monitor correct use of Halal certificate and logo in outlets and marketing.
5. Develop, implement, and maintain Halal Assurance System (HAS) across outlets.
6. Conduct internal Halal audits, inspections, and follow-up on corrective actions.
7. Prepare audit findings, reports, and documentation for management and authorities.
8. Validate Halal status of new suppliers, raw materials, and products.
9. Work with Procurement team to collect, update, and maintain supplier Halal documents.
10. Track expiry dates of supplier Halal certificates and ensure timely renewal.
11. Conduct Halal awareness training for outlet staff and new employees.
12. Provide advisory support on Halal policies, SOPs, and best practices.
13. Promote a culture of compliance and integrity across operations.
14. Maintain updated Halal-related records including supplier declarations, certificates, and audit reports.
15. Support QA/QC documentation where it overlaps with Halal requirements.
16. Ensure timely submission of documents for new outlets or product certification.
17. Work closely with Operations team to ensure daily practices comply with Halal SOPs.
18. Provide advice on product/menu innovation to ensure Halal compliance from the start.

Job Requirements

1. Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Halal Industry Management, Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline.
2. Certified Halal Executive (CHEP) under JAKIM’s Halal Professional Board (mandatory).
3. Minimum 2 years of experience in Halal-related role (preferably F&B or retail).
4. Strong knowledge of Halal certification process (MS1500:2019, MPPHM, MHMS).
5. Familiar with food safety systems (HACCP, GMP, MESTI) is an advantage.
6. Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia & English.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
