Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, are looking for Data Engineers.
The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising, and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.
The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.
You will be working in a newly set-up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.
Responsibilities
Squad Leadership & Delivery
Lead a cross-functional squad for digital banking initiatives across Retail Banking.
Ensure timely delivery of features, enhancements, and production fixes.
Coordinate with PO, BA, QA, Dev, and Infra teams for sprint planning and execution.
Digital Banking Development
Lead and participate in development of digital banking modules on Infinity/Digital Bank platforms.
Guide the team in implementing UI/UX using React JS, JSP, JavaScript, and CSS.
Oversee backend development using J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Camel (CXF).
OpenText TeamSite – Mandatory
Lead and support implementation, configuration, and management of OpenText TeamSite (LSCS, LSDS).
Coordinate team-side content deployments and template management.
Ensure efficient publishing workflows and assist teams with content operations.
Technical Architecture & Code Quality
Review system architecture and ensure adherence to best practices.
Conduct code reviews and enforce quality standards.
Optimize application performance and scalability on Oracle DB and WebLogic.
Environment & Deployment Management
Support deployments across HPUX, Linux, and Solaris environments.
Troubleshoot issues across all digital channels (web, mobile, APIs).
Coordinate with infrastructure and DevOps teams for release management.
Problem & Incident Management
Lead investigation and resolution of production issues.
Perform root cause analysis and drive permanent solutions.
Ensure incident SLAs and minimize downtime.
Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting
Work closely with business, operations, compliance, and design teams.
Provide regular updates on sprint progress, risks, and dependencies.
Maintain documentation for architecture, processes, and user guides.
Skills
Must have
6 to 9 years of strong hands-on experience in:
J2EE, JSP, React JS, JavaScript
Spring/Spring Boot, Camel (CXF), Spring Batch
WebLogic Portal & Oracle Database
Unix Shell Scripting
OpenText TeamSite (LSCS/LSDS) – Mandatory
Experience working in Digital Banking platforms (Infinity / Digital Bank).
Strong analytical, debugging, and solution design skills.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
Team leadership with stakeholder management skills.
Nice to have
Experience in mobile development using React Native.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
Prior experience in Retail Banking domain solutions.
