Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, are looking for Consultants to be part of the project.
The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising, and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.
The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.
You will be working in a newly set-up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhance backend services and APIs for Digital Banking applications.
Work on Java and Spring Boot frameworks to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions.
Integrate backend systems with Oracle databases and third-party APIs.
Collaborate with frontend teams, architects, and business analysts to deliver end-to-end features.
Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
Support deployment activities and troubleshoot production issues.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, security best practices, and Agile development principles.
Skills
Must have
3-5 years of hands-on experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
Good understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
Experience working with Oracle databases (SQL, stored procedures, query tuning).
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
Familiarity with HPUX, Linux, or Solaris environments.
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Nice to have
Exposure to Unix shell scripting for automation or monitoring tasks.
Experience with WebLogic Server deployment and configuration.
Basic knowledge of JavaScript for UI integration.
Understanding of DevOps pipelines, Agile practices, and CI/CD tools.
