Key Responsibilities:

Sales Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, coach, and manage a high-performing team of Account Managers focused on the mid-market segment.
  • Set clear sales targets, expectations, and performance metrics for the team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify development opportunities for team members.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

Sales Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy specifically for the mid-market segment, aligned with overall company objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the target mid-market accounts.
  • Oversee the sales cycle for key deals, providing guidance and support to the team as needed.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and messaging for the mid-market.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Work closely with key customers within the mid-market segment to understand their needs, challenges, and business objectives.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams (e.g., Product, Support) to resolve issues and improve the customer experience.

Sales Performance Management:

  • Monitor and analyse sales performance against targets, pipeline health, and other key metrics for the mid-market segment.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve or exceed sales targets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other sales teams (e.g., Enterprise, SMB) to ensure alignment and maximise opportunities.
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and content for the mid-market.
  • Partner with Product Management and Customer Success to ensure offerings meet mid-market needs and to drive customer adoption and retention.

Market Insight & Feedback:

  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs within the mid-market segment.
  • Provide feedback and insights to Product Management, Marketing, and other teams to inform product development and go-to-market strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 8-10 years of experience in sales or sales leadership, preferably within the mid-market segment or a similar B2B context.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Experience managing and developing a team of sales professionals.
  • Strong understanding of the mid-market segment, its challenges, and opportunities.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to close deals and manage complex sales cycles.
  • Strategic thinking and planning abilities, with a focus on driving growth in the mid-market.
  • Deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to build strong, lasting relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Results-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
