Why does this job exist and why is it critical?
This role is to provide legal support to various business divisions within the Maxis group to facilitate operations. Your support includes drafting and review of documents, negotiating with counterparties, legal research and advisory.
What are you accountable for?
Legal support & advisory to business divisions within the Maxis group to facilitate corporate initiatives where there are disputes / potential disputes and litigation with third parties
Oversee, coordinate and handle dispute and litigation matters of the Maxis group and where required to interface, liaise and coordinate between Maxis group stakeholders and external counsel.
Periodic reporting to senior management of material litigation
Ensure Maxis’ interests are protected while complying with laws and regulations when undertaking assigned duties and tasks.
Balance legal issues against commercial requirements in the performance of assigned duties and tasks. Rendering pragmatic legal advice while ensuring legal compliance and Maxis’ interests are protected
What do you need to have for this role?
Minimum 7 years’ experience post being called to the Bar
Background & experience in general litigation and prior experience in industrial relation matters would be an added advantage
Able to work independently
Positive, passionate, collaborative,
Thrives in a challenging and dynamic environment
Enjoys learning new things, meeting new people and working with diverse range of internal stakeholders.
Critical thinking and good problem-solving abilities
Strong communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills when dealing with counter-parties to a transaction as well as internal stakeholders.
