Maxis’ Professional Training and Education for Growing Entrepreneurs (PROTÉGÉ) programme is our commitment to helping young Malaysian talents and our nation to always be ahead and to add value to the national economy. We are offering an opportunity for you to be part of the PROTÉGÉ programme at Maxis, which aims to develop and guide you with necessary skills and experience to get ahead in this ever changing world. The programme will be for 8-12 months and will have a combination of intensive soft skill classroom training and on-the-job training opportunities. You will learn practical skills and real-life experiences at Maxis that will help guide you towards a successful future.
The Project & Service Management Protégé will support Maxis in managing government ICT/network projects across pre-completion (planning & implementation) and post-completion (service transition & operations) stages. This role provides hands-on experience in project coordination, service delivery, technical support, and stakeholder management within a government environment.
Job Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management (Pre-Completion)
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and status reporting.
- Coordinate with engineers, vendors, and government agencies during implementation.
- Support procurement tasks: quotations, deliveries, documentation.
- Assist with site checks, basic testing, and verification of project deliverables.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation (plans, test results, acceptance documents).
Service Management (Post-Completion)
- Support service transition activities and operational acceptance.
- Monitor service performance and SLA compliance.
- Assist in coordinating incident resolution, maintenance, and service issues with internal teams or vendors.
- Prepare service performance reports, incident summaries, and operational updates.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Support communication with government clients on project and service matters.
- Coordinate internal teams, vendors, and partners to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Assist in preparing materials for meetings, reviews, and briefings.
Documentation & Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate project and service documentation for audit and compliance.
- Manage inventories, invoices, meeting minutes, and service logs.
- Support general administrative tasks as required by the Project and Service Managers.
Technical Support (Basic)
- Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate issues when necessary.
- Assist with network/ICT testing, validation, and system checks.
- Support government users via phone, email, or onsite when required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in ICT, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Basic understanding of networks, ICT systems, or service operations.
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Organized, proactive, and able to work with multiple teams.
- Added advantage: ITIL Foundation, PRINCE2/CAPM, CCNA, or CompTIA certifications.
Duration of Programme: 8 Months
