Position : Head of Development

Salary Range : Open for discussion based on working experience

Location : IOI Business Park, Bandar Puchong Jaya

Working Hours : 8.00am – 5.30pm (Monday – Friday)

Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated Development - Head of Department to join our Digital Process Optimization team.The successful candidate will lead strategic development initiatives across various departments to resolve challenges and inefficiencies in our current digital processes. This role will focus on data safety, improving work productivity, and enhancing the scalability of internal systems and platforms. 

Through cross-functional leadership and team mentorship, you will architect, prioritize, and deliver digital solutions that optimize our internal operations. You will drive innovation in digital processes both internally and for external healthcare clients.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead the software development department, setting vision, goals, and roadmaps for hospital and clinic management systems (e.g., EHR, billing, scheduling, inventory). 
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of developers, ensuring skill development and alignment with company objectives. 
  • Oversee resource allocation, project timelines, and budgets to deliver scalable, reliable software solutions. 

Product Development & Innovation

  • Drive end-to-end development of new features, updates, and integrations, incorporating healthcare trends, user feedback, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Champion agile methodologies, code quality standards, and best practices for secure, performant applications. 
  • Conduct technical reviews, architecture design, and prototyping to innovate on core products like patient management and compliance tools. 

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with sales, support, implementation, and training teams to prioritize features and resolve production issues. 
  • Engage with healthcare clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet operational needs. 
  • Represent development in executive meetings, providing updates on progress, risks, and opportunities. 

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Implement robust testing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring to maintain system uptime and security. 
  • Ensure all developments comply with healthcare regulations (e.g., data privacy laws like PDPA, GDPR, or HIPAA equivalents). 
  • Analyze performance metrics, user data, and feedback to drive continuous improvements and product evolution. 

General Duties

  • Foster a culture of innovation and accountability; perform other assigned tasks with quality and within timelines. 
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies (e.g., cloud, AI in healthcare) and integrate them strategically.

Job Requirements

  

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field. 
  • 8–10 years of experience in software development, with 5+ years in leadership roles managing teams in healthcare or SaaS environments. 
  • Proven expertise in full-stack development (.NET, React, MySQL/SQL databases) and familiarity with healthcare systems (EHR/HIS preferred). 
  • Strong experience in agile project management, software architecture design, and delivering enterprise software solutions. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, fluent in English and Mandarin. 
  • Proficient in DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Git, Docker), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and security best practices. 
  • Strategic thinker with experience in cross-functional collaboration and regulatory compliance.

Added Knowledge / Advantage

  • Hands-on experience with large-scale enterprise healthcare software deployments. 
  • Familiarity with performance optimization, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools. 
  • Experience in mentoring and developing high-performing software teams. 
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and healthcare IT regulations.
