Senior Product Designer (Furniture / HORECA Focus)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead our product design and development function. This role is not only about creating drawings but also about shaping our product strategy, ensuring flawless execution with fabricators, and maintaining our design identity.

You will work closely with the founders, suppliers, and project team to bridge creative vision with manufacturing reality — ensuring every product meets the highest standards of beauty, quality, and practicality.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy
• Own the end-to-end product design process (concept → prototype → production).
• Define and uphold the company’s design language 
• Mentor junior designers (future hires).

• Design & Development
• Create and review detailed technical drawings, shop drawings, and 3D models.
• Ensure designs are practical, cost-efficient, and scalable for production.
• Work with the project team to customize designs for specific clients.

• Supplier & Fabricator Management
• Liaise directly with local and overseas manufacturers.
• Solve technical production issues, ensuring quality and cost control.
• Negotiate solutions and improvements with suppliers.

• Quality Assurance
• Review prototypes and samples for compliance with design standards.
• Establish quality benchmarks for materials, finishes, and craftsmanship.
• Work closely with execution team to ensure on-site integration.

• Documentation & Systems
• Build and maintain a structured library of drawings, finishes, and technical documentation.
• Standardize design-to-production workflows for repeatability.

Location

• Based in Kuala Lumpur HQ, with travel to factories/suppliers locally and abroad.

Job Requirements

Requirements

• Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in furniture or interior product design.
• Proven track record in managing design projects end-to-end.
• Expertise in CAD (AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, or similar) and rendering tools.
• Strong technical knowledge of joinery, upholstery, finishes, and manufacturing.
• Excellent communication skills; Mandarin proficiency a strong advantage.
• Strategic mindset — able to balance beauty, cost, and practicality.
• Leadership potential: able to guide future junior designers or assistants.
