Job Description

A Shop Assistant will need to fulfil the following important duties and responsibilities to excel at their job:

• To provide accurate and speedy checkout service.
• Arranging and labelling goods in the display shelves.
• To provide friendly and efficient service to customers.
• Assisting customers in finding the products they’re looking for.
• To operate cash registers or point of sales (POS) to accept payment of cash.
• Providing shopping advice and recommendations to customers.
• To be responsible for counting and reconcile cash held against transaction records/receipts/cash drawers and submit all cash received to customer service supervisor after each assigned shifts.
• To be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of workstation/surrounding areas.
• To clean, tidy, pricing stock or stacking shelves as required during quieter periods.
• To report all errors, damages and theft to immediate superior.
• To carry out any other duties assigned by immediate superior.
• Addressing customer complaints and inquiries.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum SPM qualification
2. Basic math and cashier skills
3. Friendly with good customer service attitude
4. Able to use POS system / handle cash payments
5. Responsible, punctual and hardworking
6. Able to work weekends & public holidays
7. Retail experience is an advantage
8. Can start work immediately preferred
