Position: j5 Application Engineer Intern

Department: Digital Solutions / Enterprise Applications

Job Summary

The j5 Application Engineer Intern will support the development, configuration, testing, and maintenance of the j5 Operations Management System (OMS). The intern will work closely with experienced application engineers and business users to learn how digital solutions support operational processes such as shift handover, logbooks, work instructions, and electronic forms.

This internship provides hands-on exposure to industrial software, business process digitalization, application support, and low-code development within an operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Application Support

• Assist in configuring and maintaining j5 applications and IndustraForms.
• Support user testing and validation activities.
• Assist in troubleshooting basic application issues.
• Help monitor application performance and user feedback.

Development & Configuration

• Support the creation and modification of IndustraForms.
• Assist in implementing form validations, workflows, and business rules.
• Participate in developing simple reports and dashboards.
• Learn and apply basic scripting and configuration techniques.

Documentation

• Prepare user guides, technical documentation, and training materials.
• Document business requirements and process workflows.
• Maintain records of configuration changes and testing results.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Execute test cases and record test results.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Assist in identifying and reporting defects.

Continuous Improvement

• Support initiatives to digitize manual processes.
• Gather feedback from end users and propose improvements.
• Participate in project meetings and workshops.

Job Requirements

Education

Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:

• Computer Science
• Information Technology
• Software Engineering
• Information Systems
• Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial)
• Related disciplines

Knowledge & Technical Skills

Basic Understanding Of:

• Databases and SQL
• Software applications and systems
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Business process workflows

Advantageous Skills

• Python programming
• Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Power BI
• ERP, CMMS, or EAM systems
• Understanding of industrial or manufacturing operations
