Job Description

We are expanding our dynamic data science team and we are looking for our next Lead Data Scientist who is responsible for managing the data science team, planning projects, and building analytics models, leveraging on large volumes of data across sources in a variety of forms. We will rely on you to build data products to extract valuable business insights.

In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. 

You will be leading our Data Science team and your job scope will include:

  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes.
  • Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data.
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
  • Combine models through ensemble modelling.
  • Present information using data visualization techniques.
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product development teams and other stakeholders.
  • Lead the development of analytics-focused products and utilizing cutting edge machine learning, natural language processing, deep learning and mathematical techniques to develop powerful data models.
  • Develop tooling to quantify and monitor model performance and generalizability.
  • Identify and build new datasets that would enhance models and decision making.
  • Set technical direction to ensure high-quality output across the team.
  • Responsible for supporting the growth and professional development of the team of data scientists.
  • Manage ML Ops platforms with Model Governance and Continuous Model Training Framework.
  • Mentor junior team members, provide technical leadership and execution guidance.

Job Requirements


  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of proven experience as a Data Scientist.
  • 8+ years of experience applying advanced mathematical and statistical techniques.
  • Advanced Python skills (data science stack: NumPy, Scipy, Sklearn, Pandas).
  • Analytical mind and business acumen.
  • Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra).
  • Strong engineering skills and an eye for clean, maintainable code.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present findings to stakeholders and communicate results to all colleagues.
  • Experience with performance tuning, architecture, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional agile work streams and scaling data-driven initiatives.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Keras, Tensorflow, Pytorch and Caffe is a must.
  • Knowledge of AWS or GCP technologies is a plus.
