Job Description

The Senior Manager, Business Solutions (Finance & Operations) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of finance and operational functions within an asset management environment. The role ensures robust financial governance, efficient operational support for investment activities, and full compliance with regulatory requirements. The incumbent will also drive process optimisation, system enhancements, and automation initiatives to support scalability, accuracy, and operational excellence.

  Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and oversee Finance, Operations, and Business Solutions functions to support the investment activities and overall business objectives.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, including compliance with Securities Commission (SC) guidelines, and internal governance frameworks.
  • Oversee financial management, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial, management, and regulatory reports.

  Investment Operations Oversight

  • Oversee operational processes supporting the investment portfolios, including trade processing, settlements, reconciliations, and portfolio accounting.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of NAV calculations, pricing, and portfolio valuations.
  • Work closely with fund managers, custodians, trustees, and external service providers to ensure seamless execution of investment operations.
  • Monitor and improve operational workflows to support increasing transaction volumes and product complexity. 

Business Process Improvement & Digitalisation

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation (e.g. RPA) and system enhancements in finance and investment operations.
  • Improve efficiency in trade processing, reporting, and reconciliation processes.
  • Lead system implementation or upgrades (e.g. portfolio management systems, accounting platforms).
  • Enhance data integrity, reporting capabilities, and operational scalability.

Operational Risk & Compliance Management

  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls across finance and investment operations.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and financial risks, including trade errors, settlement failures, and valuation discrepancies.
  • Liaise with Compliance and Risk functions to ensure adherence to SC regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements.
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings.

Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering

  • Act as a key liaison between Finance, Operations, Investment teams, Compliance, and external stakeholders (e.g. custodians, auditors, regulators).
  • Provide financial and operational insights to support investment and business decisions.
  • Ensure timely resolution of operational issues impacting fund performance or reporting.
  • Support new product launches (e.g. bond funds, sukuk mandates) from an operational and finance perspective.

People Management & Capability Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Finance and Operations team.
  • Build team capabilities in investment operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote the principle of “doing things right the first time” in all processes.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • 100% compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. SC guidelines, audit standards).
  • Timely submission of regulatory and financial reports.
  • NAV and reporting accuracy.
  • Reduction in trade breaks, reconciliation differences, and operational errors.
  • Process efficiency improvements.
  • Successful implementation of automation or system enhancements.
  • Zero major audit findings and timely closure of audit issues.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Team performance management and development completion (100%).

Job Requirements

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum [8–12] years of relevant experience in Finance, Operations, or Business Solutions, with at least [3–5] years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in process improvement, system implementation, or automation initiatives is preferred.
