About the Role

Join Ortho Dental Group as a 3D Dental Lab Assistant and be part of our digital dentistry team. You’ll work hands-on with 3D printing and post-processing to produce dental appliances such as aligners, retainers, mouthguards and crowns, while supporting clinics with practical digital workflows.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, learning new technology and working in a fast-paced production environment. You’ll also work closely with our customer service, support, sales and operation teams to improve quality, efficiency and overall workflow.

• Gain exposure to quality control, equipment maintenance and production planning.
• Work with clinicians and technical teams through courses, demonstrations and exhibitions.
• Develop your ability to manage production workflows, troubleshoot issues and maintain consistent quality.
• Build experience that can lead to future roles in senior lab, trainer or production positions.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Fabrication

• Prepare digital files and set up 3D print jobs for aligners, retainers, mouthguards, crowns and other dental appliances.
• Operate 3D printers and perform post-processing steps
• Carry out finishing work to ensure products meet the required fit and surface quality.
• Plan and sequence production jobs and update trackers to meet daily targets.

Quality Control & Equipment

• Perform visual and basic dimensional checks according to product specifications.
• Identify and troubleshoot common printing defects and report recurring issues to supervisors.
• Perform routine printer and equipment maintenance according to SOPs.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment and monitor consumables.

Training & Order Support

• Prepare printed samples and equipment for courses, exhibitions and demonstrations.
• Assist colleagues and new team members with basic technical and hands-on tasks.
• Coordinate with inter- departments to confirm order details and ensure timely completion.

Job Requirements

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or higher in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Dental Technology or a related field.
• Strong interest in 3D printing and digital dentistry.
• Experience in 3D printing, laboratory work or digital design is an advantage.
• Basic computer skills for CAD/CAM workflows, file handling, production tracking and reporting.
• Willing to work shifts, including weekends when required.
• Detail-oriented, organised and able to follow SOPs accurately.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the team.
• Good communication and time management skills.
