Job Description

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability criteria;
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best possible deals;
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential new suppliers and products;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers;
  • Collaborate with the design and production teams to understand product requirements and specifications;
  • Place orders and ensure timely delivery of products and materials to meet production schedules;
  • Conduct quality checks on received products and materials to ensure they meet company standards;
  • Manage inventory levels and forecast demand to avoid stockouts and overstock situations;
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory, and supplier performance;
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sourcing and purchasing activities, including cost analysis and supplier performance;
  • Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing with suppliers;
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations;
  • Perform any other duties as directed by management.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field;
  • Proven experience in sourcing and purchasing, preferably in the fashion retail industry;
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills;
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills;
  • Ability to analyse market trends and supplier performance;
  • Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software;
  • Good understanding of quality control procedures;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Must possess own transport and be willing to travel locally and internationally as required;
  • Proficiency in English and at least one other language (e.g., Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese) is preferred.
