Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO:
- Advise management and site teams on all Environment, Safety & Health matters
- Principal employers’ responsibility to ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514) and Amendment Act A1648 (2022)
- Assist in developing, enhancing, and managing the company’s Integrated Management System (ISO 45001 and ISO 14001) for the department and project site and guide the project team for SHASSIC assessment
- Guide project teams in preparation for internal audits, external audits (ISO 45001, ISO 14001), SHASSIC assessments, and DOSH inspections
- Promote a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety compliance
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; recommend improvements
- Organize safety programs, training, and awareness activities
- Act as Secretary for the Safety & Health Committee
- Prepare reports, maintain safety records, and track incident statistics
- Review and update risk assessments (HIRADC)
- Enforce PPE usage and safe work practices
- Monitor high-risk activities and ensure proper control measures (PTW)
- Maintain emergency response readiness at the site
- Coordination & Support
- Liaise with authorities (DOSH, DOE, CIDB, etc.) during audits and inspections
- Work closely with clients, consultants, and stakeholders on Environment, Safety & Health matters
- Support the Senior Environment, Safety & Health Manager in safety initiatives and improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
DESIRED QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:
- Minimum Diploma in Environmental, Safety, and Health or equivalent.
- Registered competent Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with the Occupational Safety & Health Department (DOSH) - valid Green Book.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Safety and Health Officer (SHO) in high-rise construction projects.
- Knowledge and experience in Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) practices.
- Compliance with OSH legislations and compliance.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to accept contract employment (yearly renewable basis).
- Willing to based at Klang
