Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

To lead the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, statutory compliance and sound financial management across the organisation.

Financial Reporting & Accounting

•  Oversee the full set of accounts, including timely month-end and year-end closing, and submission of monthly and annual management accounts with complete audit schedules.
•  Prepare group consolidation accounts.
•  Ensure the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and integrity of all financial data, with proper documentation and organized filing systems.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow

•  Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models; analyze and report variances to support management decision-making.
•  Oversee cash flow management, including timely payments, cash flow monitoring, and bank reconciliations.

Compliance & Taxation

•  Ensure full compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements, including computation and timely submission of tax returns, auditors' reports, annual returns, and other corporate filings.
•  Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, and regulatory authorities, ensuring all queries are resolved promptly.

Financial Analysis & Strategic Support

•  Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support business decision-making.
•  Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and the Board.

Internal Controls & Systems

•  Implement and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and computerized accounting systems.

Leadership

•  Lead, coach, and develop the finance team.
•  Undertake ad-hoc assignments as required by senior management

Job Requirements

Requirements:

•  Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/MIA) preferred. 
•  Minimum 8 years of finance and accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity; experience in hospitality, property, or multi-entity group environments strongly preferred. 
•  Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements. 
•  Proven experience in full sets of accounts, group consolidation, budgeting, and liaising with auditors, tax agents, and bankers. 
•  Strong leadership, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to lead a team and engage senior management and the Board confidently. 
•  Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; comfortable using AI tools to improve reporting efficiency and analysis. 
•  High integrity, meticulous, and able to work independently under tight deadlines.
