Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs and contracts throughout the construction lifecycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, valuation of work, and ensuring projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Management & Estimation

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BQ), and tender documents. 
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine costs. 
  • Prepare project budgets and monitor expenditure throughout project execution. 
  • Conduct cost planning and cost control activities. 

Tendering & Procurement

  • Assist in the tendering process, including invitation, evaluation, and recommendation of subcontractors and suppliers. 
  • Review quotations and negotiate pricing and contract terms. 
  • Prepare comparison reports for management approval. 
  • Issue purchase orders and subcontract agreements as required. 

Contract Administration

  • Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. 
  • Prepare and evaluate variation orders, claims, and contractual correspondence. 
  • Monitor project progress and assess interim payment applications. 
  • Manage subcontractor accounts and final account settlements. 

Project Cost Control

  • Track project costs against approved budgets. 
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and advise project teams on financial implications. 
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts. 
  • Monitor material usage and project expenditures. 

Final Accounts & Reporting

  • Prepare and finalize project accounts upon completion. 
  • Reconcile project costs and prepare financial summaries. 
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation. 
  • Provide commercial advice to project managers and stakeholders. 

Job Requirements

 Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience (or as required by the employer). 
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and contract administration. 
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications. 
  • Proficiency in cost estimation and quantity take-off. 
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
