Job Description

As an assistant to the Japanese General Manager of the manufacturing division, you will support smooth communication with local staff and engage in project progress management and promotional activities.

Interpretation and Translation Tasks

  • Provide consecutive interpretation (Japanese ⇔ English) between the Japanese GM and local staff during meetings, on-site visits, and audits.
  • Interpret instructions and explanations related to safety, quality, and production on the manufacturing floor.
  • Translate technical documents, reports, and standard operating procedures related to manufacturing.
  • Support the translation of internal documents and emails between Japanese and English.
  • Occasionally provide interpretation during meetings with the Japan headquarters or other overseas sites.

Project Support

  • Assist in promoting manufacturing-related improvement projects led by the Japanese GM, such as:
  • Productivity improvement
  • Labor-saving initiatives
  • Quality enhancement
  • Inventory reduction
  • Additional responsibilities include:
  • Collecting, organizing, and preparing data and materials related to project progress
  • Coordinating issues and managing schedules with relevant departments
  • Preparing materials, taking meeting minutes, and following up on various regular meetings
  • Assisting in drafting reports and proposal documents

Other Duties

  • Accompany and interpret during factory tours and visits
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as directed by the GM

Job Requirements

  • Japanese: Native or business-level proficiency
  • English: Business-level proficiency (capable of internal communication, document preparation, and interpretation)
  • Experience in interpretation and project support-related tasks
  • Strong coordination abilities and a responsible attitude to work effectively within teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
