Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate Refinery Operational Expenses (Opex) for annual planning and cost optimization.
  • Gather, compile, and validate Opex data from all Refinery divisions to support budgeting processes.
  • Develop and propose annual Opex plans, finalize for management approval, and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Monitor and adjust Opex priorities throughout the year, ensuring compliance with budgetary limits.
  • Track and report monthly Opex performance, including variance analysis and spending trend reviews.
  • Lead the Annual Impairment Analysis for refinery assets and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Identify and screen potential Refinery Capital Projects related to Distribution & Terminal Operations (D&TO).
  • Prepare and develop approved capital projects for budget approval and assess their economic viability.
  • Handle reporting and analysis tasks, including internal reports (weekly highlights, monthly scorecards, performance reports).
  • Prepare external reports for regulatory bodies, such as the Department of Statistics (export, manufacturing, and price producer surveys).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or other relevant engineering field is a minimum requirement.
  • Willing to be based at Port Dickson.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Refinery and Supply operations. However, fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and during non-standard hours.
