This role plays a key part in delivering seamless, secure, and personalized digital experiences that strengthen customer engagement and drive loyalty growth. Lead Petron’s loyalty and digital engagement initiatives, ensuring strategic roadmap execution, seamless system integration, exceptional digital experience, and successful project delivery. Additionally, lead other Retail IT projects depending on their magnitude and strategic importance, while maintaining operational excellence, compliance, and customer trust.

Key Responsibilities

1. Loyalty Platform Strategy & Execution
  • Define and implement the roadmap for Petron’s loyalty technology ecosystem, including mobile apps, rewards engine and customer-facing interfaces
  • Continuously enhance the Petron Miles program to improve scalability, innovation, and customer relevance
  • Champion digital engagement through personalization, gamification, and mobile-first strategies
2. Customer Data & Personalization
  • Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with local regulations (e.g., PDPA)
3. Digital Experience & Channel Management
  • Lead mobile and digital platform enhancements, ensuring high performance and usability
  • Integrate loyalty with payment and fuelling systems for seamless customer journeys
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams to optimize UI/UX
4. Integration & System Architecture
  • Manage loyalty system integration with payment gateways and marketing automation platforms
  • Build and maintain APIs for real-time redemptions, offers and partner connectivity
  • Drive migration to modular, scalable architectures
5. Vendor & Partner Management
  • Oversee external technology partners, from selection to performance management
  • Evaluate and onboard new vendors to expand loyalty capabilities (e.g., AI, gamification)
  • Ensure cost-effectiveness and service quality across all partners
6. Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Enforce security best practices for all loyalty systems and data
  • Collaborate with IT security to mitigate risks and conduct regular audits
  • Maintain business continuity for critical platforms
7. Training
  • Ensure proper knowledge transfer through training programs for internal and external stakeholders and a smooth handover of completed projects to the Operations team.
8. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Lead a tech team including developers, analysts, architects, and QA professionals
  • Work closely with Marketing, IT, and Operations to align platform goals with business needs
  • Foster an agile, high-performance culture focused on fast, iterative delivery

Ideal candidates must possess the following criteria/qualities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related studies.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience digital technology or mobile-first platforms
  • Strong understanding of loyalty technologies, customer data platforms (CDP), and system integration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards, cybersecurity, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience working with agile teams and managing external vendors.
