We are looking for a driven and forward-thinking Strategic Marketing Communications professional to support Petron Malaysia’s integrated marketing campaigns across channels and business units. This role will be responsible for coordinating campaign planning and working closely with internal teams and agencies to ensure consistent and effective execution across service stations, loyalty platforms, digital channels, media and partnerships.

The role has a strong focus on media coordination, performance marketing and campaign optimisation, ensuring marketing activities are well-managed and deliver measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing Strategy & Brand Support

  • Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies across retail, commercial, loyalty, and customer experience areas.
  • Ensure all marketing activities reflect the company’s brand positioning, tone of voice, and customer value propositions.
  • Apply brand guidelines consistently across campaigns and materials.
  • Contribute to brand refresh projects, loyalty initiatives, and customer experience improvements.
2. Campaign Planning & Execution
  • Coordinate Above-the-Line (ATL) and Below-the-Line (BTL) campaigns across multiple channels (print, digital, in-store, etc.).
  • ​​​​​​​Prepare campaign briefs that clearly outline objectives, target audiences, and key messages.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure campaigns are executed effectively in different regions and states.
  • ​​​​​​​Map customer journeys to understand touchpoints and track campaign performance for continuous improvement.

3. Digital, Media & Performance Marketing (Core Focus)

  • Support media planning and buying across both traditional and digital platforms.
  • Manage and allocate media and digital budgets to maximise efficiency.
  • Collaborate with social media teams and external agencies to optimise digital performance and audience targeting.
  • Monitor campaign results, analyse performance data, and recommend actions to improve ROI.
  • Ensure all campaigns are measurable, with outcomes tied to business goals.

4. Customer Experience & Journey Management

  • Translate customer insights into relevant campaigns and communications.
  • Identify gaps in customer journeys and propose improvements to enhance overall experience.
  • Ensure consistency across physical and digital customer touchpoints.
  • Track customer feedback and campaign outcomes to recommend enhancements.

5. Stakeholder & Agency Management

  • Collaborate with retail, non-fuel business, and corporate affairs teams to deliver campaigns.
  • Coordinate with creative, media, and digital agencies to ensure timely execution.
  • Support budget tracking and prepare KPI reports to measure campaign success.

Ideal candidates must possess the following criteria/qualities:
  • Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in integrated marketing, communications or campaign management. Candidates with media agency background are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of media planning, buying and performance optimisation across digital and traditional channels.
  • Experience managing multi-channel campaigns including ATL, BTL, digital and POSM.
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.
  • Results-oriented, analytical and customer-focused with strong execution discipline.
