Job Description

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare and maintain a full set of accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. 
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities. 
  • Prepare timely financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis for decision-making. 
  • Review trial balances, journal entries, general ledger transactions, and account reconciliations.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. 
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations. 
  • Analyze financial performance, profitability, and cost management opportunities. 
  • Support management with financial insights and strategic recommendations.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Monitor cash flow, debtor aging, creditor balances, and working capital requirements. 
  • Ensure effective management of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and intercompany transactions. 
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash management records.

Taxation, Compliance & Audit

  • Manage corporate tax matters, tax planning initiatives, and compliance with Malaysian tax regulations. 
  • Ensure compliance with e-Invoicing requirements, statutory regulations, and financial reporting standards. 
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretaries, and regulatory authorities. 
  • Support internal and external audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.

Inventory & Financial Controls

  • Monitor stock reconciliation and ensure financial accuracy of inventory records. 
  • Strengthen internal controls, financial procedures, and compliance processes. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance workflows, SOPs, and reporting efficiency.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Supervise, mentor, and guide junior finance team members. 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function. 
  • Assist management in implementing financial systems, automation, and process enhancements.

Job Requirements

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MIA, or equivalent is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting. 
  • Proven experience in handling full set accounts independently. 
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and management reporting. 
  • Audit experience is an added advantage.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, taxation, and e-Invoicing requirements. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. 
  • Experience with AutoCount, SQL Accounting, ERP systems, or similar platforms is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with financial analysis, cash flow management, and internal controls.
