Job Description

Costing - Malaysia: 

1. Set up and maintain standard costing in our ERP system.
2. Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system.
3. Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
4. Analyze costs of raw materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analyses.
5. Analyze monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by brand by customer type.
6. Conduct inventory reserve analysis on a quarterly basis and generate reports.
7. Review rates of depreciation, labor and overhead and update them as appropriate. 
8. Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward.
9. Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories.
10. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
11. Work in special projects as required.
12. Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others.
13. Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.

Accounting:

1. Complete financial reports & month-end closing process on time
2. Responsible for Monthly Bank Reconciliation.
3. Responsible to provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports.
4. Engage in stock take activities.
5. Responsible for quarterly Bank Negara submission
6. Effective liaise with bankers, auditors, company secretary and tax authorities
7. Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

 EDUCATION LEVEL:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accountancy is required.
• Advanced qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, MICPA, or MBA are preferred but not mandatory.

KNOWLEDGE LEVEL:

• 2-4 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with SOX testing and compliance processes.
• Strong proactive, strategic thinking skills, with the ability to lead change in an evolving environment.
• Process-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and business units.
• Highly curious and committed to ongoing learning and personal development.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exceptional analytical skills, capable of working with large datasets to draw meaningful conclusions.
• High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all deliverables.
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivots, Sumifs, If/thens, VLOOKUPs, and other data analysis functions).
