Job Description

About us

We’re an early-stage startup building practical security-first tools and services for businesses. Small, scrappy, and high-growth — we move fast, ship often, and value curiosity, responsibility, and clear thinking. This internship is for someone who wants real, hands-on experience across engineering, security operations, and product — not busywork.

Role overview

We’re hiring a Generalist Intern to support engineering and cybersecurity efforts across the stack. You’ll work closely with founders and senior engineers on real features, security tooling, incident response playbooks, automation and day-to-day product tasks. Expect a steep learning curve, mentorship, and the chance to own small projects end-to-end.

What you’ll do (examples)

  • Assist with front-end and back-end feature development (JavaScript/Node.js, basic web frameworks).

  • Help maintain and extend internal security tooling and automation (scripts, CI/CD pipeline tasks).

  • Participate in security monitoring, triage, and simple incident response activities under supervision.

  • Run vulnerability scans, help track findings, and verify remediation.

  • Write and maintain technical docs, runbooks, and test cases.

  • Build small automation scripts to reduce developer toil (deploy helpers, alerts triage).

  • Shadow customer or internal demos and help prepare technical materials.

What we’ll teach you / you’ll learn

  • Practical secure development and secure-by-design thinking.

  • Version control best practices, CI/CD, and release pipelines.

  • Basics of vulnerability scanning, SAST/DAST tools, and remediation workflows.

  • Building production-ready code, testing, and deployment.

  • How to triage incidents and communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Product lifecycle and how security fits into product decisions.

Job Requirements

Who we’re looking for (must-haves)

  • Curious, proactive, and keen to learn — not afraid to ask questions.

  • Some coding experience (JavaScript is preferred; Node.js, Python, or similar).

  • Familiarity with Git and basic command-line tools.

  • Good written and verbal communication.

  • Able to work independently and in small teams.

  • Currently studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, InfoSec, or related field — or equivalent self-taught experience.

  • Able to commit to a 6-month paid internship with hybrid presence in the office as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic understanding of web security concepts (XSS, CSRF, OWASP Top 10).

  • Experience with containers (Docker) and cloud basics (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

  • Exposure to CI tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).

  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning or monitoring tools (e.g., Snyk, Nessus, OWASP ZAP).

  • Previous startup, open-source, or security competition (CTF) experience.
