Job Description & Summary

To manage and ensure compliance with all stamp duty requirements and support the firm in tax-related matters, including preparation, submission, and advisory tasks. The role also offers exposure and opportunities to participate in treasury-related functions, such as cash flow monitoring, banking matters, and investment activities, providing a well-rounded foundation in financial operations.

Stamp Duty: 

  • Handle the end-to-end process of stamp duty assessment, adjudication, and payment. 
  • Liaise with the Inland Revenue Board (IRB/LHDN) and other authorities for clarification and resolution of stamp duty matters. 
  • Maintain proper records and tracking of all stamped documents and related correspondence. 
  • Monitor legislative updates and changes in stamp duty laws and regulations. 

Taxation: 

  • Support tax reporting, reconciliations, and compliance activities in line with statutory requirements. 
  • Assist in handling tax queries, audits, and correspondence with the tax authorities. 
  • Support the finance/tax team in providing advice on tax implications of transactions, including stamp duty and indirect taxes. 
  • Stay up to date on changes in tax laws, guidelines, and compliance requirements. 

 

Treasury Exposure: 

  • Assist in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and analysis. 
  • Coordinate banking documentation, account openings/closures, and online banking transactions. 
  • Gain exposure to investment, financing, and foreign exchange activities under supervision. 

Requirements:

  • Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in tax, accounting, or corporate services, preferably with exposure to stamp duty processing. 
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently. 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with authorities and internal stakeholders. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Oracle Financial. 

Preferred Attributes: 

  • Experience in handling both tax and stamp duty matters within professional services or corporate environments. 
  • Interest in developing treasury and financial management skills. 
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. 
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving regulatory and business requirements.
