Job Description & Summary

The Global Sustainability platform has been established with the aim of PwC being the most credible and pre-eminent adviser in ESG and sustainability transformation globally. It will connect experts to deliver on projects from strategy through execution and reporting, xLine of Service and x-territory. This role will support the deliverables of the Malaysian based sustainability SMEs in the Asia Pacific Centre of Excellence (“CoE”) Project, and the Malaysia-Vietnam firm’s own sustainability CoE. The CoE project will drive increased business performance through improved allocation of expertise and support in both project proposals and project deliveries, as well as supporting thought leadership, profiling, and continued market development.

Key accountabilities 

Demonstrates proactive abilities as a core team member, with potential to lead, emphasizing on the following areas: 

  • Supporting proposals and projects focusing on x-cutting thematic areas as defined in our strategy - these include human rights and social accountability, nature & biodiversity, and green growth programmes to deliver transformative impact. 

  • Contribute to improving collaboration and ensuring improved delivery of sustainability work in Malaysia, Vietnam and the Asia Pacific CoE. 

  • Convening and consulting with MYVN colleagues, and where relevant, Asia Pacific and global stakeholders from across the business. 

  • Delivering on programmes of work, either internally or for clients - this would involve working with colleagues in the Lines of Service as a joint project team. 

  • Identifying and managing risks and issues with large programmes of work appropriately. 

  • Collaborating with other teams or functions to deliver outcomes, e.g. marketing team. 

  • Assimilating information quickly and dealing with ambiguity. 

  • Working virtually and in a global environment with diverse cultures and backgrounds. 

  • Understanding in budgeting and allocating resources appropriately to support proposal costing estimations. 

  • Developing or participating in campaign or programme road shows with internal leaders and clients. 

  • Supporting project planning and coordinating timelines and milestones with a broad ecosystem of stakeholders. 

Skills, experience and qualifications 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree / Masters with some relevant ESG certifications.  

  • Relevant internship experience in ESG, sustainability, and/or corporate social responsibility roles.  

  • Strong advisory skillset and mindset with a focus on delivering nature and social projects, along with some experience in reporting.  

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from Consulting, Deals, and Tax to strengthen cross-Line of Service (xLoS) teamwork in sustainability initiatives.  

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), with proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and any other local Malaysian languages preferred.  

  • Strong capability to work collaboratively across various business units and geographical locations, as well as interact effectively with all levels of staff.  

  • Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Highly motivated and capable of working independently.
