In IT audit at PwC, you will focus on helping to assess and evaluate the design and effectiveness of an organisation's IT systems and controls to provide compliance with regulations and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data architecture solutions that align with the company’s strategic objectives and business requirements.

  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of data management tools and technologies.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, data scientists, and IT teams to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions.

  • Develop and maintain data models, data flow diagrams, and other architectural documentation.

  • Oversee the integration of data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineering and development teams.

  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and industry trends to ensure the company’s data architecture remains cutting-edge.

  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.

  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and practices.

  • Participate in the development of the company’s data strategy and roadmap.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Architect, etc.) is a plus.

Professional Experience

  • Significant experience in data architecture, data integration, and data management, typically 5-10 years in a related field.

  • Proven experience working in risk management, compliance, or financial services.

  • Hands-on experience with data warehousing solutions and data modeling.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in designing and implementing data solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Strong knowledge of ETL processes and tools.

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data storage systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Data Lakes).

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) and tools for data visualization (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security practices.

Leadership and Management Skills

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage relationships with stakeholders.

  • Experience in project management and guiding teams through the implementation of data-focused projects.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to design and develop strategic data solutions that align with business goals.
