The MYVN RISQ (Risk, Independence, Solution, and Quality) team in Malaysia collaborates closely with the broader RISQ team, fostering strong ties through frequent communication and collaboration on RISQ-related matters.Role specific responsibilities
Leadership & Guidance: Lead and mentor a team of independence professionals, providing guidance on complex independence matters and promoting a culture of compliance and quality.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable independence standards and regulations. Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and advise on necessary adjustments to our procedures.
Policy Implementation: Oversee the implementation of independence policies and procedures. Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure these policies are understood and consistently applied. Manage independence-related compliance testing activities and projects.
Issue Resolution: Address and resolve independence-related issues and queries from engagement teams. Provide thoughtful analysis and recommendations to mitigate risks.
Training & Development: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance awareness and understanding of independence requirements across the firm. Coordinate and support preparation for periodic Independence and RISQ training.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments to integrate independence considerations into broader business processes and initiatives. Partner with the practice to promote a strong quality culture.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on independence activities, ensuring transparency and accountability. Monitor data metrics for periodic reports and review them for exception reporting. Support reporting to Leadership.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas and identify areas for improvement on a continuous basis.

Minimum years experience required
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Business or Law; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
At least five years of relevant working experience in multinational companies, preferably in a compliance or regulatory role within a professional services environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team. Ability to serve as a coach and mentor to junior team members.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Skilled in logical thinking and writing.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to convey complex information clearly.
Team player with a proactive attitude towards learning and continuous technical knowledge development.
