Job Description

Job summary:

Responsible for full spectrum of financial operations, including accounting, cashflow, budgeting, reporting, and statutory compliance, concurrently managing daily administrative functions, office resources and payroll. Reports to the MD and as key management to partner and support functional initiatives and company strategic actions to achieve forecast and financial targets. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Leads and manage accounts staff, providing direction, training and coaching for excellence.
  • Oversee full set of accounts (AR, AP, GL) and prepares month end accounts and financial reporting, including reconciliation of accounts.
  • Manage budgeting, financial forecast, bank facilities and cashflow projection.
  • Monitor, update weekly cashflow forecast for contractor payments and administrative expenses.
  • Review and validate costs and expenses, including updates in multiple project P&L for operation management.
  • Prepares and submit SST and tax filings in compliance with regulations.
  • Liaison with banks, auditors, company secretary, tax authorities and government agencies.
  • Maintain internal controls and recommend enhancements to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage payroll processing and statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB).
  • Assist in HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and HR regulations.
  • Coordinate and administer staff performance evaluation processes supporting the MD.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least ten (10) years accounting/finance experience and minimum of three (3) years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements (MPERS).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (AutoCount) and Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace.
  • Mature individual with excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Detailed-oriented, with high level of accuracy and resourceful.
  • Basic understanding of HR administrative work sufficient.
  • Experience with construction or project-based accounts is an added advantage.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
