As a Backend/Fullstack Developer you will be the Builder for our core services, shipping features from prototype to production. You will design scalable microservices, author reliable REST APIs, integrate databases, and automate CI/CD so releases are predictable. Your work will harden deployments and reduce operational risk for our clients.

Your Growth & Impact

• Advance your architecture skills by owning multi-service systems and delivering measurable improvements in latency, cost, scalability, or maintainability. Lead design reviews, produce architecture diagrams, and propose practical trade-offs that keep our industrial customers reliable.
• Lead cross-functional delivery with product and QA, defining clear acceptance criteria and keeping releases predictable. Coordinate rollout plans, feature flags, release notes, and post-release checks that reduce surprises in production and keep factory operations stable.
• Expand your technical footprint across backend and frontend stacks by applying Node.js, Python, or Java and both SQL and NoSQL databases to ship full features. Work with containerisation, Kubernetes-style orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services to run services at scale.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and documentation to raise team standards and reduce defects. Set coding conventions, run knowledge-sharing sessions, and help junior engineers take ownership of operational tasks.
• Build a visible portfolio of production systems by driving deployments, monitoring, and structured postmortems that show operational thinking. Own service-level metrics, alerting, and incident follow-up, and present outcomes to product and client stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Product Development

• Design and implement backend services, APIs, and database schemas that support product features and integrations.
• Develop frontend components when needed to deliver end-to-end features and maintain a consistent user experience.
• Write automated tests and CI pipelines to keep releases predictable and repeatable.
• Deliver code that is readable, documented, and easy for teammates to extend.

System Architecture & Reliability

• Drive the design of scalable microservices and data flows for performance and cost efficiency.
• Manage database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and backup plans for production systems.
• Containerise services and prepare deployments for cloud environments to reduce time to recovery.
• Monitor and troubleshoot incidents, contributing to postmortems and durable fixes.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with product, QA, and operations to plan releases and define acceptance criteria.
• Review code, share feedback, and establish coding conventions for the team.
• Break down complex tasks into clear milestones and keep stakeholders informed on progress.
• Provide hands-on mentorship and technical guidance to more junior engineers.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Approximately 12 years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in backend and fullstack roles.
• Proven track record shipping production systems and operating services in live environments.
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience leading technical workstreams or small engineering teams is expected.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Deep knowledge of server-side languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java and their ecosystems.
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and service integration patterns.
• Skilled with relational SQL databases and NoSQL stores, including schema design and query optimisation.
• Familiar with container orchestration and deployment practices in cloud environments, plus CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
