AutoCAD Drafter Intern – Job Scope

1. Drafting Support

• Assist in preparing 2D drawings using AutoCAD under supervision.
   
• Update drawings based on mark-ups or instructions from senior drafters/engineers.
   
• Help create plans, elevations, sections, and simple detailing.
   

2. Documentation & File Management

• Organise and maintain drawing files, templates, and project documents.
   
• Assist in preparing drawing sets for submission or internal review.
   

3. Coordination Work

• Work closely with designers, engineers, or project teams to understand drawing requirements.
   
• Join internal discussions to learn project workflow and drawing standards.
   

4. Site / Measurement Support (If required)

• Follow senior staff for site visits to take basic measurements.
   
• Update drawings based on site conditions (with supervision).
   

5. Learning & Development

• Learn company drafting standards and improve AutoCAD skills.
   
• Gain exposure to construction/ID/engineering drawings.
   
• Support any ad-hoc tasks assigned by team leaders.

Job Requirements

AutoCAD Drafter Intern – Job Requirements

1. Education

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or related field.
   

2. Technical Skills

• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (2D drafting).
   
• Able to read simple drawings or willing to learn.
   
• Advantage if familiar with software like SketchUp / Revit (not compulsory).
   

3. Soft Skills

• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn.
   
• Able to follow instructions and work with the team.
   
• Good communication and positive working attitude.
   

4. Availability

• Able to commit to a minimum internship period of 3–6 months (or per university requirement).
   
• Willing to attend site visits when needed.
   

5. Other Requirements

• Responsible, punctual, and organised.
   
• Able to start immediately or within a short notice (optional, if needed).
