Job Description

The Senior Programme Associate is responsible for ensuring the effective management and delivery of programmes and initiatives in line with the organisation’s strategic direction and programme goals.

This role focuses on operational leadership, managing programme timelines, stakeholder coordination, and overseeing the work of programme associates to ensure programmes are delivered effectively and according to plan.

The Senior Programme Associate typically oversees together with other programme associates multiple programmes simultaneously and supports the team by ensuring strong operational processes and execution standards.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Implementation & Management

  • Lead the implementation and day-to-day management of multiple programmes and initiatives.
  • Translate programme strategies into operational plans, work schedules.
  • Ensure that all programme activities are executed within scope, budget, and timeline, and adhere to organisational and partner standards.
  • Work closely with strategy team to ensure implementation reflect intended outcomes and impact pathways.
  • Monitor programme progress and proactively identify and address operational challenges to ensure programme continuity and quality.
     

Team Coordination & Supervision

  • Supervise and guide programme associates in programme execution and task delivery.
  • Delegate tasks, review outputs, and ensure quality and consistency across programme activities.
  • Provide mentorship and operational guidance to programme associates.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as the key coordination point between internal teams, partners, and programme stakeholders.
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment on programme activities and deliverables.

Operational Planning

  • Manage programme schedules, logistics, and resource planning.
  • Coordinate workshops, events, meetings, and programme-related activities.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track programme milestones, KPIs, and deliverables.
  • Prepare progress updates and programme reports for internal leadership and partners.
  • Maintain proper documentation of programme activities and outcomes.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in programme, campaign or project operations, implementation, or coordination within a social impact organisation, social enterprise, NGO, foundation, PR agencies, corporate social impact context, or managing national level campaigns and programmes.
  2. Strong understanding of programme management cycles, work planning.Proven ability to supervise teams, delegate tasks, and ensure accountability.
  3. Excellent coordination, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  4. Experience managing budgets, expenditure tracking.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Melayu and English is a must; additional languages are an advantage.
  6. Skilled in managing relationships with partners, vendors, and community stakeholders. Comfortable speaking and presenting to senior management and international partners.
  7. Comfortable with digital tools for project tracking, reporting, and collaboration.
  8. Committed to the organisation’s social impact goals.
  9. Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required and manage multiple programmes concurrently.
