Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Executive to oversee the company's accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full set of accounts, supervising daily accounting activities, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting management with financial analysis and decision-making.Bottom of Form

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Handle and maintain a full set of accounts, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets. 
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. 
  • Review accounting transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. 
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and month-end/year-end closing activities. 

Accounts Receivable & Payable

  • Oversee billing, collections, supplier payments, and cash flow management. 
  • Review and approve accounting entries, payment vouchers, and supporting documents. 
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and coordinate collection activities. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

Budgeting & Financial Analysis

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections. 
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency. 
  • Prepare variance analysis and management reports for decision-making. 

Statutory Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards, SST regulations, and statutory requirements. 
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, and government authorities. 
  • Coordinate annual audits, tax submissions, and regulatory filings. 
  • Assist in implementing and improving internal controls and accounting procedures.

Administrative & Ad-hoc Duties

  • Maintain proper accounting documentation and filing systems. 
  • Support management with financial data and special projects. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Additional:

  • Working days: 5 days (Monday to Friday) 8.30am to 5.30pm
  •  Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is preferred as the role requires communication with Mandarin-speaking customers, suppliers, and business associates.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree, Professional Qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ICAEW), or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience. 
  • Experience handling full set accounts independently. 
  • Experience in manufacturing, trading, or SME environments is an added advantage. 

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS). 
  • Knowledge of SST, payroll, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and statutory compliance. 
  • Proficient in accounting software such as SQL Accounting, AutoCount, UBS, Sage, SAP or similar systems. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial reporting).
