About the Role

Retrobee Design & Build is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Interior Designer to oversee commercial interior fit-out projects from initial concept through to completion. You will be instrumental in converting client needs into innovative, functional, and feasible design solutions, collaborating closely with our Project, Quantity Surveying, and Site teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee interior design projects, managing everything from initial concepts and space planning to design development, construction documentation, and the final project handover.
• Facilitate client meetings to gather project requirements and deliver creative design proposals.
• Create layout plans, mood boards, material selections, 3D visualizations, and comprehensive construction drawings.
• Work in conjunction with Project Manager, Quantity Surveyors, Site Supervisors, M&E consultants, and contractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Verify that all drawings are precise, feasible, and meet project budgets, schedules, and construction specifications.
• Review and confirm design drawings before they are sent to clients and internal teams.
• Perform site measurements, inspections, and participate in project coordination meetings as necessary.
• Tackle design and technical challenges that arise during project implementation.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, materials, products, and design advancements.
• Ensure proper project documentation is maintained and adhere to company design standards and SOPs.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Possession of a Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a similar discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial interior design or Design & Build projects.
• A robust portfolio showcasing office, commercial, retail, or hospitality projects.
• Skilled in AutoCAD, 3D Max, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office; familiarity with rendering software is a plus.
• Excellent design sensibility, with strong capabilities in space planning and detailing.
• Well-versed in construction methods, materials, and interior fit-out processes.
• Exceptional project coordination skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Ability to work autonomously while overseeing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism, accountability, and meticulousness.
• Possesses a positive attitude with strong collaborative and leadership skills.
